Her father Ruben Cimet (1923-2008), a well-known sculptor and architect, was born in Hrubieszów (Lublin Voivodeship) so Adina Cimet chose Lublin as a pilot city to teach American high school students about the life of Jews in Eastern Europe before World War II. She is interested in the period from the beginning of Jewish settlement in Poland and Lublin (13th century) until the Holocaust.
