Anna Romana Gasowska Dadlez was born in pre-World War II Poland in the city of Lwow. After the arrest of her father by Soviet authorities, she and her mother were deported to Soviet Kazakhstan (togethet with some million other Polish women and children). They spend two years in the USSR, and some six years in Iran, Iraq and Lebanon, where Dadlez obtained her Polish High School diploma.
In 1948 she and her mother left for Britain, where she received a BA at the University of Durham. They arrived in the US in 1956, and Anna was naturalized in 1962. She received her Ph.D. (major in political science) from Syracuse University in 1973, and has been employed as a professor at Saginaw Valley State University since 1976.
Dadlez is the author of two books: "Political and Social Issues in Poland, 1946-1985" and "Journey from Innocence".
Dadlez is married and has two daughters.
