Idesbald Goddeeris (1972), MA Slavic Studies (1994), MA History (1997), PhD History (2001), is an assistant professor at the K.U. Leuven, where he teaches on Central and Eastern European, transnational, and imperial history. Being a staff member of the Research Unit MoSa (Modernity & Society 1800-2000), he has mainly done research on the history of migration and the Cold War. He is also a senior member of Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies and was a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics in 2009.
